We are not a nursing home; our tenants are active, involved and energetic but need the senior living services we provide. Greenhills Village Story
Sally Rothwell moved to State College in 1993 to join her husband Bill, who started a job at Penn State, with their daughter Candy. Sally, who has been a Registered Nurse since 1972, started her job search. Since her background was Oncology and Home Health Nursing, she landed a job with a local home health agency. During that period of time, she identified an extreme need for an affordable personal care home or senior living residence for the elderly population of Centre County, especially in the State College area. She noticed that the majority of the average-income elderly who needed personal care services had no other choices than to stay alone at home or had to leave the State College area to find an affordable senior living residence. In some cases, they ended up in a nursing home prematurely.
- Greenhills Village has been in operation since its opening, as a new facility, in December 1998.

To enhance the capabilities of elderly persons to live as independently as possible in a secure, comfortable, home-like atmosphere, to preserve and reinforce resident's autonomy, dignity, privacy and right to make choices.
